Feeble update...

...but just in case you were wondering...

Young Master Kuo has been methodically finishing the effects for "the song". Striking images, blinky lights, and Partridge singing. Really, what more could you possibly need?

I've been running around town with Brian, shooting plates for spaceship stuff...not terribly exciting, but it did help to create an animatic for the next round of AfterEffects and Combustion...(or is it "Consumption"...John?).

I did agree to do a panel discussion at the "Angel Booster Bash"...we'll see about that. Perhaps I can discuss "Macabre Pair of Shorts - 10th Anniversary Edition".

Digital F/X and Vampires

Good morning and here's a brief update for anyone out there. The Digital F/X artist showed me some of the progress he's made on "the song" part of Rock it Ship B-Flat and it looks great! Crazy shit, you know what I'm sayin'.

On the "everyone's favorite drunken New Orlean's detective" front. Dixon Maison-Mystery at Hillyard Manor is going to be screened at the Booster Angel Bash in Los Angeles. It's scheduled time is Sat. July 30th at 6pm. Jason Carter will be there, as will I. I may, or may not be, doing a panel discussion on "indie film-making"...I not sure listening to me lecture on this would be all that interesting...maybe I'll rope some of my renegade, indie-filmmaking chums to join me. All in all, seems like a good time to break out the "boozinator".

By the by..."Dixon Maison-Mystery at Hillyard Manor" has been optioned by the good people at Frontier Media Corp. for domestic and international distribution. Dixon...coming to DVD or a cable network near you later this year.

Day One

Okay, what can I say...it was wonderful. The entire cast is hilarious. The crew is made up of the same crew as "Dixon Maison" (with a few valuable additions), so it ran like a well oiled machine. We shot "the song" at the end of the movie. Thanks to the generousity of the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts and our Production Designer Austin Wilkin it looks great. Here's the cast line up (and a sneak peek at the opening titles) -

Rock it Ship B-Flat

Okay Partridge fans...here we go. I'm moments away from leaving for the first day of shooting on "Rock it Ship B-Flat". It's a story that's been done a thousand times before...you know...five rock and roll aliens accidentally land on Earth and think they're The Partridge Family. More on the day later...(just learned how to do the blog-thing).
