Troma comes a knockin'

So strange. I had a wonderful experience meeting Lloyd Kaufman about 3 years ago at AFM. We sat down and I showed him a few clips from the "Macabre Pair of Shorts". He enjoyed seeing something in 35mm...(not sure he was used to seeing it). We talked a little and he suggested that I release MPS myself. "I'm not a distributor, Lloyd..I'm just a film-maker". It was all very friendly and one of my more enjoyable experiences at any AFM.

Well, this morning, I got a call from New York. It was a gentleman from Troma. They want me to send them a DVD of Macabre because they're interested in releasing it. Frankly, I couldn't be more pleased. In a virtual sea of odd Magick Films...this one takes the cake and I can't think of a better, more appropriate place than Troma to release it.

DVD ships out tomorrow morning...let's hope we can all make a deal we're happy with.

A Good Poem

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat:
They took some honey,
and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.

The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy, O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"

Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl,
How charmingly sweet you sing!
Oh! let us be married;
too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the bong-tree grows;
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood,
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;

And hand in hand on the edge of the sand
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Decisions...Decisions..

Oh the pain...oh, the torment...what to do, what to do?

Here's the skinny. I'm not entirely sure which direction to take this "Ghastly Ones" movie. Either it's HELP! meets DR. PHIBES meets ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL meets Frankie and Annette meets THE FORBIDDEN ZONE...(with a dash of cartoon Scooby Doo...).

Or..is it... The Ghastly Ones 1974 Variety Show Hallowe'en Special.

Or is it...A retrospect of the entire one season run of the non-existent 1974 variety show?

What's it going to be, dearest readers? Focus...focus...

Back in Business...

Greetings all! Another Hallowe'en has come and gone. It was a lovely affair. However, now we are all hard at work...knuckling down to make more controversial entertainment for you and me.

Mr. Patrick, Mr. McNamara, and I have been hashing out the script for "The Ghastly Ones" movie. It's going to be more bizarre than you can possibly imagine.

Peace, Love...dream of mermaids.

(In the meantime...please enjoy this picture of a rabbit ambulance).

Ciao!
